German Alps -- One Day Late

Hi, it's Deborah.  I was too tired to post this picture last night, but I must share it now.  The Bavarian Alps are the most stunning geography that I have ever seen, better than the Canadian Rockies and the Grand Tetons together.  I took this picture on the road to Hitler's "Eagle's Nest".  It's a great view of the mountains and an alpine lake nestled deep within them . . . a perfect snapshot of both grandeur and tranquility.  It's ironic that the ruler of it all for one horrible decade in history was the antithesis of peace.
